CRRC delivered a number of key services throughout the line’s modernisation

CRRC’s first overseas ‘system+’ project; the company covered investment, financing, rolling stock manufacturing, the modernisation of the section’s onboard communication systems, tracks and electrical systems, as well as full system maintenance.

Progress was made on the project via the use of a segmented implementation plan.

Developed specifically for Metro Line 1; the NM22 trains developed by CRRC feature a slew of safety, comfort, energy efficiency and environmental upgrades, and are fully equipped with an advanced CBTC system and intelligent operation technologies.

The modernisation of Line 1 and connection of Observatorio Station to the intercity railway is expected to both reduce travel times and transportation costs.
