CAF has secured a contract in France valued at approximately 250 million EUR for the supply of 22 Régiolis regional trains to SNCF Voyageurs.

The units will operate in Région Sud (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) and will expand the existing fleet of 17 trains already in service in the region.

SNCF Voyageurs, which manages regional rail operations, placed the order as part of its ongoing fleet renewal programme. The new trains are intended to replace rolling stock currently used on the Marseille–Aubagne–Toulon–Hyères corridor and the Marseille–Toulon–Les Arcs–Draguignan route. The procurement continues the collaboration between SNCF Voyageurs and the CAF–Alstom consortium.

CAF will design and assemble the trains at its Reichshoffen site in Alsace, while Alstom will provide selected equipment packages.

The order covers six-car electric multiple units with capacity for approximately 310 passengers. The design includes wide windows, indirect LED lighting, seating with reading lamps and power points, and dedicated spaces for passengers with reduced mobility. The trains will comply with the 2023 Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI), covering fire safety, smoke emissions, and material standards.
