The Finch West Light Rail line is due to be completed in 2023. The contract is with Mosaic Transit Partners Maintenance GP (MTM). The project is a public-private partnership between Infrastructure Ontario, Metrolinx and Mosaic Transit Group. Mosaic was given the contract to design, build, finance and maintain the new light rail line, while Bombardier will be a subcontractor to MTM.

Elliot G. (Lee) Sander, President, Americas Region, Bombardier Transportation, said:

We are delighted to be part of the team that is expanding mobility options for the citizens of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). We bring our deep understanding of transportation in the GTHA region and our extensive experience as a provider of mobility solutions and participant in PPPs to ensure that Finch West LRT will provide the same high level of safe, efficient and reliable transportation as the rest of the Metrolinx network.

The Finch West Light Rail Transit project features 11km of dedicated rail between Humber College and the new Finch West subway station. There will be 16 surface stops and an underground terminus at the college and an underground interchange station at the Finch West subway station. The project will also include a maintenance and storage facility for the rolling stock.

Alstom will provide the rolling stock for the line (Citadis Spirit LRVs).
