Bombardier JV to Maintain 280 High-Speed Train Cars in China

Bombardier’s Chinese joint, Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation Ltd (BST), has won a contract with China Railway to deliver maintenance services for 280 high-speed train cars (32 trains).

The trains were originally manufactured by BST for China’s high-speed network. The contract is worth around 1,24 billion CNY (159 million euros | 192 million USD).

Jianwei Zhang, President, Bombardier Transportation China, said:

“We are delighted to be awarded this maintenance service contract by CHINA RAILWAY. Our China team’s expertise and experience across the portfolio enable us to support our customers with integrated solutions, including designing, manufacturing and maintenance service, and we look forward to contributing further to the development of China’s railway industry and keeping sustainable success in China.”

The 280 high-speed cars will include CRH1A, CRH1A-A, CRH1E and CRH380D cars. The different models will receive different levels of maintenance, but all works are to be completed by the end of the year. Over the last two years BST has already delivered maintenance services for 1,200 high-speed cars.
