Amtrak has announced a number of updates to its mobile app, aiming to streamline customer experience and simplify navigation.

Updates include improvements to train status notifications and journey progression data following recent customer feedback.

The various updates have been implemented following customer feedback

The app, which is available on both iOS and Android, now enables access to a new My Trips Tab, which allows customers to view active trips in one location, the ability to choose preferred seating options during booking, trip modification allowances and a redesigned home screen.

Amtrak Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Eliot Hamlisch, said:

Understanding our customers are constantly on the go, Amtrak is committed to continually improving and expanding our mobile platform.

We’ve listened to our customers and improved the Amtrak app’s design and functionality for a better experience. These new updates make it even easier for customers to focus on their journey, with more convenient access to tickets, train status, and more while they’re on-the-go.

The new updates form part of the operator’s ‘Retrain Travel’ campaign, which aims encourage customers to re-evaluate their approach to travel.
