Amtrak has launched a week-long sale offering up to 25% off regular Coach Class fares across most of its national network.
The promotion is available for tickets booked between Thursday 14 August and Wednesday 20 August 2025, for travel from Wednesday 3 September to Thursday 13 November 2025.
The discounted fares apply to a wide range of routes, including the Amtrak Cascades, California Zephyr, Coast Starlight, Crescent, Empire Builder, Northeast Regional, Southwest Chief and Texas Eagle, among others. The offer also covers regional and long-distance services, with examples including the Downeaster in New England and the San Joaquin in California.
Coach Class on Amtrak trains includes reserved seating with reclining chairs, legroom, and large windows. There are no middle seats, and passengers can move about the train during their journey.
The sale excludes certain dates, including Monday 13 October and Tuesday 11 November. Seat availability is limited, and terms and conditions apply.
Passengers can book tickets through Amtrak’s website or mobile app. Members of the free-to-join Amtrak Guest Rewards programme can earn points on their purchases, which can be redeemed for travel and other rewards.
