Alstom is set to unveil a new Test Lab for rail safety systems at the Raildagen (Raildays) 2024 event in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Organised by the Dutch association Railforum, the event will take place on 20 and 21 September, offering the public a closer look at the rail industry and its latest advancements, with a particular focus on rail safety.
This year marks Alstom’s second consecutive participation in Raildagen. Following its successful presence in Rotterdam in 2023, Alstom will now showcase its latest innovations at its Utrecht site.
The official unveiling of the new Test Lab will occur on Friday 20 September at 11am.
The site is dedicated to advancing rail safety systems. It features advanced test benches designed to simulate a wide range of railway safety scenarios. These include Alstom’s European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) used on the Betuweroute and the Amsterdam-Utrecht line, as well as the Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) system in operation on the Amsterdam and Rotterdam metro networks.
The lab is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing rail safety and digitalisation within the Dutch rail system.
“Alstom is delighted to launch and open its Test Lab for rail safety systems to our partners. Our expertise in signalling is recognised worldwide and we are proud to take the next step in our contribution to the safety and digitalisation of the Dutch railways with this innovative Test Lab.”
During Raildagen, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Test Lab, attend live demonstrations, and engage with Alstom’s rail safety experts.
