Each train will be comprised of five railcars, totalling 30 railcars. They will be internally open-ended with walk-through carriages, forward-facing seating and ample space for bikes and luggage.

The new trains will also feature digital interior travel information displays, strip indicator lights at the doors, door chimes and on-train announcements.

Michael Keroullé, President & CEO Alstom Americas said:

“We’re proud and honoured of the continued confidence of TransLink. This additional order of our made-in-Canada vehicles, specifically designed for Vancouver SkyTrain, will help improve daily commutes in the Vancouver Greater Area.”

This contract builds on an existing order for Alstom to supply 41 Mark V trains (205 railcars) to TransLink. The first of these trains were delivered to Vancouver in December 2023.
