Alstom has been awarded a contract by construction company PORR to carry out works for the installation of new traffic control systems on line 354.
The project aims to eliminate capacity bottlenecks in Oborniki Wielkopolskie, improving both train traffic management, safety, regional connectivity and accessibility to rail transport for residents, as well as improved travel comfort for regional and long-distance services.

Alstom will be tasked with the design and installation of the railway traffic control systems across the section of railway line 354 from Oborniki Wielkopolskie Most junction to the Oborniki Wielkopolskie station.
The project also includes the installation of signalling equipment for the new passing loop in Parkowo as well as updates to the Local Control Centre (LCS) Poznań–Piła.
Completion is scheduled for Q2 2026, which falls in line with a timeline set by the National Recovery Plan.
Adam Juretko, Head of the Katowice Branch at Alstom Polska, said:The expansion of railway line 354 reflects both the technical ambition of the project and the outstanding ability of the Alstom team to meet challenges with efficiency and agility.
Thanks to our experience and proven technological solutions, we can support the development of railway infrastructure in a region that is strategically important for both passenger connections and freight transport.
An additional track in Oborniki Wielkopolskie, as well as a second bridge crossing over the Warta River, will serve to compliment the extensive modernisation of the Poznań–Piła railway line, which was completed in 2019.
