Alstom’s latest Metro Trains have now entered commercial operation on the Baku Metropolitan line. The 3 Metros, each which consist of five cars have successfully passed all the tests and will now be used on the Red and Green Metro lines.

Anti-Vandalism Materials

These Metro trainsets feature the inter-car walkways which will optimise passenger flow and have verticle handrails close to the doors which will improve safety when in operation. The capacity of the trains has been increased to 1,047 passengers and 202 ergonomically designed seats. The lead car has been fitted with a special area for persons with reduced mobility. The trains are also fitted with LED lights which ensure better luminosity and improve on the overall energy savings. The materials which were used meet all the latest global requirements in relation to anti-vandalism design. These new 1520 mm Metro trains were manufactured at Metrovagonmash plant.

Highest Standards of Passenger Comfort and Safety

These new metro cars will ensure safer and more comfortable trips in Baku. They have undergone the strictest quality control and comply with the highest standards. We intend to expand our co-operation with the Baku metro system and we will continue delivering advanced metro cars, jointly manufactured in Azerbaijan, into the future, said Martin Vaujour, Senior Vice President of Alstom Transport for the CIS region
