AECOM to Design Bangkok’s MRT Orange Line West

AECOM has been chosen by CH. Karnchang Plc (CK) as the lead designer for the Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT) Orange Line West Project in Bangkok, Thailand.

This 13.4-kilometre western section will extend from the Thai Cultural Centre to Bang Khunnon and will include 11 underground stations.

Once completed, it will connect with the Orange Line’s eastern section, creating a 35.9-kilometre line that links Bangkok’s east and west sides, enhancing regional connectivity.

“We look forward to applying our global rail capabilities on this key segment of Bangkok’s rapidly growing transit network. As the industry’s leading rail and mass transit firm, our teams bring the innovative tunnelling, station design and integrated rail systems expertise needed to ensure this project’s timely and seamless delivery.”

AECOM’s involvement in this project extends its long-standing role in Thailand’s rail infrastructure, having supported CK on projects such as the MRT Blue Line, MRT Blue Line Extension, MRT Orange Line East Section, and MRT Purple Line (South).
