The Spanish rail infrastructure manager Adif has awarded a contract for the maintenance of 42 locomotives to Transervi.

The diesel-electric Renfe Class 311 locomotives are located at different freight facilities in the North, Northwest, Northeast and Central regions where they provide manoeuvring and last-mile functions. The shunting locomotives are to be in optimal condition to operate safely and to be fully compliant with current regulations. The Class 311 locomotives were built between 1989 and 1991.

The maintenance contract is for the 42 locomotives as well as for maintenance services for the railway infrastructure. The contract has a value just shy of 6 million euros and a runtime of 33 months.
