SafeRail – Incorporating the PTC World Congress 2016 is taking place in Washington D.C. from 22 to 23 March 2016. The focus of the congress will be the future of US rail safety and security, looking at signalling systems and the key issues relating to safety and security on the American rail network.

Representatives from the Federal Transit Authority, Transportation Security Administration, Association of American Railroads, VIA Canada and Genesee & Wyoming will host a panel to discuss high-priority investments whilst remaining competitive, interoperable and economically viable. Other focuses will be on IT innovations in safety and security, GPS technology, big data, cyber security and workplace safety culture.

The tension between capacity, economic viability and safety will be a hot topic, with a masterclass on operational safety on offer for delegates to learn more about the latest innovations and technologies which ensure safety at all levels. An interactive roundtable discussion will look at hazard management, remote condition monitoring, and what was no doubt a prescient subject on the day of terrorist attacks on the Brussels Metro, the role of Homeland Security and IT in rail transit.

There will be opportunity for the delegates to network at coffee breaks and a networking cocktails reception, to touch base with existing contacts and meet new clients and business partners. This is the sixth annual SafeRail congress to welcome senior executives from the rail industry, building on the success of the previous events it is set to be the most successful yet.
