Plans are in place to makeover a US rail line in a bid to improve safety and traffic flow.

Replacement Bridges

U.S. 6, between Sheridan Boulevard and Burlington North Santa Fe, will undergo a huge project costing $110 million that will offer major improvements to the service, including the replacement of bridges and the reconstruction of the U.S. 6/Federal Boulevard interchange.

In addition to this, the project will add new structure to improve traffic separation, widen road lanes and construct a new cyclist/pedestrian bridge to connect Barnum Park and Barnum North Park.

“It’s a huge step. It will greatly help to flow of traffic” said Colorado Department of Transportation Mindy Crane. State and federal funds will fund the project alongside the Colorado Bridge Enterprise.
