Clayton Equipment Delivers CD40 Locomotives
Clayton Equipment has been awarded a contract to build seven CD40, 40 tonne diesel locomotives, to be delivered imminently. In partnership with the client, Clayton has designed the CD40 locomotive to meet their exact specifications and performance criteria.
A great advantage of these locomotives is a EuroStage IV emission compliant engine; the first in the UK tunnelling industry and possibly internationally.
Ahead of competitors locomotives, Claytons CD40 locomotives are groundbreaking in terms of health and safety compliance requirements, minimising environmental impacts and ventilation operating costs.
The Clayton CD40 locomotives will allow the customer to carry out works within a tunnel beneath London, including laying tracks, overhead conductors, ventilation fans, walkways, drainage pumps, fire mains, and lighting throughout the entire tunnel length.
