An outstanding example of ZAUGG AG’s expertise in the railroad sector is the development of a special snow blower for the Rhaetian Railway. This snow blower was developed in close cooperation with the Rhaetian Railway and is designed to keep the railroad lines in the Alps clear even in heavy snowfall. The snow blower is characterized by its high performance and reliability and is an important part of the Rhaetian Railway’s winter maintenance fleet. The development of this device began with a detailed analysis of the requirements and challenges that the Rhaetian Railway has to overcome in winter operations. Based on these findings, a customized concept was created that takes into account both the technical specifications and the operational needs of the railroad. Following production and extensive testing, the snow blower was successfully put into operation and has since proven itself to be an indispensable tool for clearing snow on the alpine railroad lines.
