SmartRail Asia Congress This Week

More than 2000 visitors are expected to attend the SmartRail Congress and Expo on 2627 November, 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. Tickets can still be booked to attend.

Endorsed by the Thailand Ministry of Transport, the event will hear from more than 50 senior level speakers, and provide the opportunity to network with senior rail, metro and government figures.

ASEAN Rail Summit

The ASEAN Rail Summit will host two days of C-level keynote panels, speakers and sponsor-led workshops. Delegates from governments, rail operators, infrastructure bodies, metros and industry are invited to attend.

Speakers include representatives from PwC, Prasarana Integrated Development, Prover Technology, Bombardier Transportation, Arcadia, Mitsubishi, BTS, SMRT and Chew Transit Consultancy Ltd. Rail operators including Myanmar Railway will be in attendance, as well as speakers from public bodies including Thailands Ministry of Transport, Mass Rapid Transport Authority of Thailand, the Indian Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport Laos, Transport for NSW and the Manila Metro Rail Transit System.

Subjects in discussion will be the delivery and funding of rail projects, infrastructure growth, successful investment and development strategies, modernising systems, strategic planning, project management and network upgrades. The second day will look at topics including asset management, successful case studies from the Mumbai Metro and passenger operations.

SmartRail Theatre

A free-to-attend SmartRail Theatre will feature case studies and best-practice examples from Asias experience in the industry. It will also feature project launches and innovation sessions from high-tech exhibitors.

The East Japan Railway Company will give a presentation on the construction and extension of modern, reliable railway provision in Japan. Other speakers will talk about engineering innovations in public transportation, integration of rail networks with other modes of transportation in Korea, technology, performance and project upgrades, rolling stock advancements, and control, safety and security.

Speakers include delegates from CRIET, East Japan Railway Company, Mitsubishi, South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Bombardier, Hyderabad Metro Rail, Iconics, Axiomtek, Kontron, Rohill and Schneider Electric.

SmartRail Working Groups

The SmartRail Working Groups will enable railways, metros and government officials to come together to share best practice, promote innovations and developments in the industry and give delegates the opportunity to learn more about meeting the needs of the ASEAN railway industry.

The SmartRail Asia event has attracted 90% of the regions government, railway and metro authorities in the last three years, with this year expected to enjoy the same success. The region currently has more than $96billion worth of planned and ongoing projects in the area, making it a key region in the industry and making SmartRail Asia the key event.
