Portugal: Tender Launched for First Section of Lisbon-Porto High-Speed Line

Infraestruturas de Portugal has announced that the international tender for the first portion of the high-speed rail line between Lisbon and Porto is now open.

This portion covers 70 kilometres of railway between Porto and Oiã in the Aveiro district.

The works have an estimated value of 1.95 billion EUR and will operate as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

Ultimately, the project of building a high-speed rail line between Lisbon and Porto will be split into three phases.

The first phase will cover the section between Porto and Soure and is subdivided into two portions from Porto-Oiã and Oiã-Soure.

The second phase will connect Soure and Carregado, while the third will build the connection between Carregado and Lisbon.
