Network Rail will be upgrading and restoring Paddington Railway Station. The work will provide better passenger facilities.

Network Rail will be working over 18 months, including restoration of the barrel roof over platforms 1 to 8, transformation of popular retail area The Lawn, improved waiting facilities and respiration of the pillars and steelwork.

Paddington Station Upgrade and Restoration

The work is part of our railway upgrade plan – both Crossrail and the electrification of the Great Western Main Line will directly impact the station in the coming years.

Natalie Holden, senior commercial scheme sponsor, commented: “Paddington is one of Britains busiest stations and is getting busier each year. Its only right that passengers have the facilities to make their travelling experience better.”

“Were working closely with English Heritage to preserve the history of this iconic building, making sure the changes we make are sensitive to the original structure and to take account of its Grade I listed status.”
