InnoTrans 2024 to Highlight Future of Digitalisation

From 24 to 27 September 2024, InnoTrans will take place at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds in Germany. The event will include a focus on how electrification, digitalisation and automation will help deliver a future with efficient and sustainable mobility.

InnoTrans 2024 will be opened by Federal Minister of Transport, Dr Volker Wissing and EU Transport Commissioner, Adina Valean.

This opening will include a panel discussion entitled, ‘From Hype to Reality – AI in the Mobility Sector’ with Dr. Volker Wissing; CEO of Deutsche Bahn, Dr. Richard Lutz; CEO of Moroccan National Railways Office, Mohamed Rabie Khlie; President of Alstom, Henri Poupart-Lafarge; CEO of Siemens Mobility, Michael Peter; and CEO of CAF, Javier Martínez Ojinaga.

InnoTrans is the world’s leading trade show for transport technology

This year’s edition will also include a new AI Mobility Lab exhibition area, where over 30 exhibitors will present new AI technology.

This focus will thus address the industry’s ongoing advancement with digitalisation, causing transport systems to become increasingly networked and automated.

Kerstin Schulz, director of InnoTrans said:

“Combining transport technology and AI helps to make transport more and more efficient, sustainable and customer-friendly. InnoTrans is where domestic and international transport companies and networks come face to face with innovative developments in the mobility sector.”

The AI Mobility Lab will address the potential challenges of AI, cybersecurity, data protection and robotics in the rail industry.

For example, Google Cloud will exhibit in Hall 7.1a I 230.

Guido Massfeller, director of Business Development Public Sector, Germany, Google Cloud said:

“At Google Cloud we have made it our mission to help organisations exploit the potential of data and AI in order to make logistics and supply chains more efficient. For us, InnoTrans with its new AI Mobility Lab is one of the industry’s most important meeting places and we are really looking forward to discussing multimodal solutions and generative AI with transport decision-makers.”

In addition, Next Generation Robotics (Hall 7.1a I 570) will exhibit its new multimodal modular robotic platform (ARGO) for automatically inspecting rail vehicle undercarriages.

CRRC Academy (Hall 7.1a I 231) will also present its Industrial AI Open Platform which aims to realise new production potential

Other exhibitors at the AI Mobility Lab include Cisco Systems Inc. (Hall 7.1a I 208), Avaron Technologies Limited (Hall 7.1a I 206), 4AI Systems (Hall 7.1a I 550), OSTIRION SLU (Hall 7.1a I 203), Infodev Electronic Designers International (Hall 7.1a I 210) and Eyyes GmbH (Hall 7.1a I 170).

These exhibits will be accompanied by lectures at networking at the AI Mobility Corner. Meanwhile, Innotrans will offer four different guided tours focusing on AI.
