Vietnam Rail Summit 2026

The Vietnam Rail Summit 2026 (VRS 2026) will take place in Hanoi on 13 and 14 August, bringing together government bodies, railway operators and industry leaders from across Vietnam and the wider ASEAN region under the theme Sustainable Rail and Smart Mobility.

The summit is organised by Shine Consultant International Ltd, with co-organisers Vietnam Society of Civil Engineers (VSEC), Vietnam Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises (VAFIE) and Vietnam Camel Events and Trade Promotion Co Ltd. The Ministry of Construction of Vietnam, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the Vietnam National Innovation Center are supporting the event, alongside guiding units the Indonesian Transportation Society (MTI) and the Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation (MARIC).

Who Is Attending

VRS 2026 expects more than 200 senior decision makers from government, rail operators and the wider industry, including more than 20 government and railway authorities. Confirmed and invited organisations include Vietnam Railways (VNR), Hanoi Metro, Ho Chi Minh City MAUR, Thailand State Railway (SRT), KORAIL, SMRT Singapore, PT KAI, PT KCIC (Whoosh High Speed Rail) and KTMB. The summit will run bilingually in English and Chinese.

Conference Programme

Delegates can expect two days of high level dialogue built around four themes: urban rail and transit oriented development, railway systems modernisation, AI powered smart rail operations and green rail finance. Opening speeches are billed from the Railway Projects Management Unit under Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction and the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board, with a keynote invited from Vietnam Railways Corporation.

Confirmed speakers include Sanyawit Aphichatapong, deputy chief engineer of signalling and telecommunications at Thailand State Railway, Shaun Tan, head of Asia Pacific at the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), and Dr Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman, president of MARIC.
