The Rise of IoT, AI & Data in Rail 2027
The Rise of IoT, AI & Data in Rail returns to Cologne, Germany, on 4–5 May 2027 for a 10-year anniversary edition. Organised by Rotaia Media, the event follows a 2026 edition that recorded the highest attendance in its history.
Who Attends
The event is a senior-level meeting place for rail operators, infrastructure managers and transport authorities, together with the strategists, technologists and engineers driving digital transformation across the railway. Its format is designed to match operators’ requirements with the suppliers able to deliver solutions, rather than to serve as a mass exhibition.
Conference Programme
The conference focuses on real-world applications of AI, IoT and data across rail operations and maintenance. Key topics include:
- Turning live IoT data into predictive maintenance at scale
- Using AI and machine learning to anticipate failures and reduce disruption
- Designing and deploying digital twins for assets, corridors and networks
- Moving from time-based to condition-based maintenance
- Building big data platforms across rolling stock, infrastructure and operations
- Edge analytics for on-board and trackside sensors
- Cyber security by design for IoT, OT and data platforms
- Future fleet and traffic management
- Skills, culture and partnerships for data-driven transformation
