RTS Webinar Series 2020: Low Emissions – 17 November 2020, 2pm – 3:30pm GMT

Part of the RTS Webinar Series by RSSB

The Rail Technical Strategy (RTS), identifies five priorities that are key to the future of the railway and require a step change in the technical solutions. This webinar, the second in a series addressing each of the five identified priorities, will focus on ‘Low Emissions’.

Better air quality is key to the health of our passengers, staff and wider society. A fully decarbonised and energy efficient railway will ensure that the sector plays a key role in meeting net-zero carbon ambitions for the transport sector. The ‘Low emissions’ priority sets out the industry goals to minimise carbon and air emissions with cheaper and less disruptive electrification, zero-carbon diesel replacement, greater efficiency and the removal of emissions at source.

With a keynote address from Malcolm Brown, CEO, Angel Trains, Chair of the Decarbonisation Taskforce, join us to explore a selection of activity underway in this space and engage with this RTS functional priority and its routemap in more detail.
