Improving PERFORMance: Creating the Best Possible Plan – 19 November 2020, 2pm – 4pm GMT

Part of the Improving PERFORMance: Webinar Series by Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB)

In the last couple of months, due to exceptional circumstances, we experienced the best rate of punctuality. As passengers start to return to rail, maintaining excellent performance rates will require the industry to adopt new and radically improved mechanisms to support efficient planning.

Learn how Risk Solution’s Data Sandbox+ demonstrator has given Greater Anglia, Great Western Railway and Network Rail deep insights into timetable planning. The Rail Performance Model (COF-DSP-05) can be used to rapidly simulate a wide range of scenarios and visualise the impact of reactionary delay across the network.

Trainserv is integrating multiple data sources in real-time and converting them into easy-to-use information to support planning, performance, control and station staff, train crew, in particular drivers and driver managers. This is delivering service improvements for passengers while reducing industry costs.

The UK’s first digital rail infrastructure platform, NR+ offers Network Rail and rail operators new ways of understanding routing options on the network and has the potential to deliver major efficiency gains in terms of both resourcing and better decision making. While the focus has been freight operations, the approach has promising potential applications for passenger services too.

Confirmed speakers: Jonathan Hyde, Risk Solutions; Larry Fawkner, Optimisation Director, Cogitare; Amar Ramudhin, Professor and Director – Logistics Institute, University of Hull.

Additional breakout sessions available with the Data Sandbox+ presenters after the webinar, see the registration form for more details.

The event is open to anyone who would like to attend. Please register here and the webinar address will be sent to you in the confirmation email.

The webinar will be recorded and there will be opportunities to ask questions throughout the webinar and a discussion element.
