CORE 2021 – The Conference on Railway Excellence will take place at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Australia on 21–23 June 2021. This event will also be hosted live online for visitors to access virtually.

CORE 2021 Focus

The event will focus on rail engineering, operations, planning and management topics. CORE conferences in recent times have attracted more than 600 delegates and exhibitors internationally, from different areas of the rail industry, such as operators, manufacturers, planners and policy makers. The conference is hosted by the Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA).

Event Agenda

CORE2021’s plenary sessions will last 30 minutes each and there will be four held concurrently. They will address the following themes:

  • Rolling stock: vehicle design, manufacture and maintenance

  • Operating safety and human factors

  • Wheel / rail interaction

  • Track condition monitoring and data analytics
  • Rolling stock: vehicle dynamics

  • Engineering design systems and research

Technical Tours

During the event there will be a number of technical tours – site visits to major Australian infrastructure projects in and around Perth such as the Forrestfield-Airport Link. These will include field demonstrations of a number of techniques, such as flash butt welding.
