Burma: Myanma Railways Announces Shortlist for Yangon Central Railway Station

Myanma Railways has announced the 15 companies and joint ventures shortlisted to redevelop Yangon Central Railway Station and the surrounding area. The candidates include local and international contractors. This is the second attempt to tender for the redevelopment, following the cancellation of the first attempt in 2015 due to a lack of suitable candidates.

The shortlisted candidates are:

The shortlisted companies are required now to submit full project proposals for the design, engineering, finance, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of the station and surrounding area. The successful applicants are expected to be announced later this year.
