AusRAIL PLUS 2017: The Rail Industry’s Pre-Eminent Conference and Exhibition
The Australasian Railway Association’s (ARA) AusRAIL PLUS 2017 is the rail industry’s pre-eminent conference and exhibition that will be held in Brisbane over three days, between 21 and 23 November 2017.
The theme for AusRAIL PLUS 2017 is ‘Rail’s Digital Revolution’, where leading authorities from within and external to the rail industry will share their insights on their digitisation experiences and what digitisation means for the future of industries such as the rail sector.
AusRAIL PLUS 2017 Conference
Over the first two mornings of the conference there will be dedicated plenary and panel sessions that will touch on the digital innovation agenda for rail, from digital to virtual: technologies that will impact rail’s development, digital solutions for advancing the supply chain, leveraging technology to enhance productivity and discussions on what the rail sector could improve on to better engage with customers in a digital world.
2017 Speakers
Two international keynote speakers will address the conference. On day one, Sir Terry Morgan CBE, Chairman, Crossrail UK will discuss the role of Crossrail on London’s economy liveability and connectivity and on day three, Gerhard Kress, Director of Mobility Data Services, Siemens AG will present examples of the application of digitisation in the rail industry.
The Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development, Shadow Minister for Tourism will be delivering a keynote address discussing rail priorities.
On day three young rail professionals will be pitching their innovative ideas for improving the rail sector to industry leaders. Conference attendees will be provided with an opportunity to engage in the proceedings by voting on the ideas that they believe will transform the rail industry.

AusRAIL PLUS 2017 will also coincide with Rail Careers Week (20 to 24 November) where secondary students from Queensland will hear from young rail professionals and engage in guided tours of the AusRAIL PLUS 2017 exhibition.
