Alstom has signed a new contract with Metro de Sevilla for both the maintenance and upgrade of its railway signalling systems, covering trackside equipment and onboard equipment.
The contract will also see Alstom renew interlockings, provide hardware upgrades and tools for fixed trackside balises, necessary spare parts and repair stock for the duration of the contract’s lifespan, as well as the renewal of onboard equipment and Driver-Machine Interface.

A concessionary company of the Junta de Andalucía, Metro de Sevilla was first established in 2003 to design, construct, & operate the interurban Line 1 of the Seville Metro, with its inauguration taking place in April 2009. In 2024, Metro de Sevilla handled nearly 23 million passengers, and now serves as a key link for communications within both the city and surrounding metropolitan area.
