Underfloor Lifting Systems
Lift Trains as If by Magic
Underfloor lifting systems from Pfaff-silberblau are a full and elegant solution for the maintenance of diesel locomotives or high-speed trains.
Turntables for exchanging bogies can also be integrated into this maintenance solution. The tried and tested design of Pfaff-silberblau underfloor lifting systems together with the latest control technology ensures the safety and reliability of the system as well as optimum operator ergonomics for maintenance personnel.
In comparison with lifting jack systems, underfloor lifting systems have the advantage that, in the rest position, the workshop floor is completely level and can be negotiated without any restrictions.
Choose from different versions and system configurations: longitudinal beam hoist for universal application, or a custom-made system with a cantilever beam design.
We would be happy to provide you with detailed information on our underfloor lifting systems and to advise you on the design of your maintenance equipment.

Case Study: Train Maintenance Facility in Australia
To service and maintain the new fleet, a purpose-built train maintenance facility has been built at Kangy Angy on the Transport for NSW Central Coast in Australia.
At this facility our Pfaff Verkehrstechnik GmbH hybrid lifting system was supplied, which will be used for performing maintenance works of 6-car train units of the new Intercity Fleet in New South Wales.
The system has a load capacity of 336 tons (56 tons per wagon) and is installed in 500 mm deep foundation pits.
In terms of functionality, the system corresponds to an underfloor lifting system, i.e. individual bogies can be pushed and removed under the lifted vehicle.
The special features are the all-round adjustable body support elements which can be adjusted electrically in all directions (up/down, left/right, forwards/backwards).
We delivered the complete system to Australia in a total of 13 pcs/40 containers. The installation of the system was carried out by local partner, Sam Technology Engineers.
Commissioning, which had to be carried out remotely due to the Covid-19 regulations, was a very big challenge due to the complexity of the system and the existing time difference between Australia and Europe.
