Expo Ferroviaria 2021 – Italy’s Leading Exhibition for the Railway Industry Confirms Its Role as the Meeting Point for Sector’s Professionals

From 28-30 September, at Rho Fiera Milano, Milan, ItalyExpoFerroviaria 2021 There is only less than one month left until the next edition of EXPO Ferroviaria, Italy’s only showcase for railway technologies, products and systems takes place.

On 28 September, the event dedicated to the international railway industry will open its doors in halls 16 and 20 of Rho Fiera Milano, in Milan, Italy. The major sector’s key players will present many innovations during the three days at the show, confirming the event’s attractiveness and the rail sector’s critical role in the manufacturing economy.

Moreover, 2021 is the European Year of Rail, identified by the European Commission as an essential step towards the ecological transition. An anniversary that also falls with the tenth edition of the event.

To date, there are already over 180 exhibitors from 14 countries, including Alstom Ferroviaria SpA, Colas Rail SpA, Stadler Rail Management AG, Mermec, Knorr Bremse Rail System Italia Srl, ABB SpA, Hitachi Rail STS SpA, Lucchini RS SpA, Wabtec Corporation, Salcef Group SpA, Vossloh Locomotive GmbH, Vossloh Sistemi Srl and Siemens SpA.

Today more than ever after the pandemic, the event represents an opportunity for professionals in the railway sector to share trends, launch new products, encourage corporate marketing activities and meet face-to-face with customers, suppliers and business partners.

EXPO Ferroviaria 2021An area of the exhibition space is assigned to the infrastructure area, underlining the great importance that this sector occupies within the industry. The partner of the infrastructure area is D.R. Ferroviaria Italia. The on-tracks display, which will showcase products and equipment, will be the key feature of this section.

EXPO Ferroviaria will also include an intense programme of conferences, seminars, and exhibitor presentations, which will enhance the visitor experience with essential debates and discussions on technological trends. Conferences will be held in Italian. During the opening day, there will be the conference “European Year of Railways: Europe without borders” – organised by Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane – and “The Lyon-Turin railway line 150 years after the Frejus tunnel: speed and safety under the Alps”, organised by TELT. On Wednesday, 29 September, “The ecological revolution in rail transport” hosted by Alstom Ferroviaria and “From diesel traction to the new battery and hydrogen trains” held by CIFI and ASSIFER. On the third day, the Ferpress conference “Trains, night trains and dream trains. Back to the future beyond the high speed” and ” Railways-Aerospace: examples of a successful technological alliance” hosted by DAC – Campania Aerospace Technological District. The SIG Conference will also be held on 29 and 30 September, with two sessions: “Industrialisation in the processes of creating underground infrastructures” and “Industrialisation in the maintenance and adaptation processes of underground infrastructures”.

EXPO Ferroviaria 2021’s show partners represent both the supply sectors and leaders from the primary rail services in Italy. Amongst them are Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, Il Gruppo FNM, FERROVIENORD, ASSIFER – ASSIFER – Italian Railway Industry Association, ANIAF – National Association of Railway Track Construction,  ASSTRA – Transport Association, CIFI – Board of Italian Railway Engineers, D.R. Ferroviaria Italia, NEVOMO and SIG – Italian Tunneling Society.
