Innovation in Railway Traction will take place on 19 March 2024 in London.
This seminar will explore the requirements for alternative traction technologies to maintain a reliable and safe railway during the transition towards net-zero carbon emissions. Presentations will explore the challenges and opportunities presented by different solutions, including hydrogen, battery, and ammonia powered trains.
Case studies from the UK and beyond will showcase the initial steps taken, success stories, and key lessons learned in implementing these novel solutions on the railway. Join this event to hear perspectives from across the railway sector including regulators, operators, and suppliers, to gain a full understanding of how to take railway traction forwards.
Key reasons to attend:
- Be updated on the current state of railway electrification, and the implications on requirements for other traction sources
- Identify and overcome the barriers to implementing different technologies, including safety, cost, and technical requirements e.g. power density
- Hear on the progress of use cases applying different power sources, including hydrogen, batteries, and ammonia, comparing and contrasting the relative merits of the solutions
- Know something we don’t? Spotted an opportunity? Come together with the wider railway industry to make things better!
