RITTER single pole switch disconnectors for direct current of the type series RGL for 750 V DC and 1500 V DC are switch disconnectors for railway applications with a breaking and making capacity in both current directions according to EN 50123-3 and VDE 0115 part 300-3.

These switch disconnectors for direct current are used in third rail systems and overhead line systems, for coupling or disconnecting of the feeding systems.

The switch disconnectors achieve the conditions for disconnectors, for this reason they are used for isolating and earthing for personal safety. In view of their insulation capacity across the isolating distance and between live-part and earth they fulfil the stringent requirements of the over-voltage category 4 according to EN 50124-1.

The two-step contact system, consisting of main contact and arcing contact in combination with the arcing chamber and an electromagnetic blow-out arrangement, guarantees a high breaking capacity as well as a safe interruption of low current. The switching performance for low current was tested according to EN 50123-2, appendix B with a current of 200 A up to 1,5 A and a voltage of 900 V DC, 1800 V DC.

The switches are suitable for all kind of indoor application. They are used in substations or beside the track in outdoor cubicles.
