Crown-Nut Inserts for the Interior of the Tubes
The Crown-Nut is a revolutionary solution for the creation of threaded seats at the head of round and square section tubes. This system solves any anchoring issues for machining processes on the tubes and guarantees superior hold.
The product offers solutions for round and square tubes and is available in a wide range of sizes.
Advantages of the Crown-Nut
- Fits on tubes with ample internal diameter tolerances. Thanks to the elasticity of the crowns, the system allows the same item code to be used for various internal diameters (up to 2mm) adapting to production warping and solving issues of possible internal diameter bottlenecks caused by tube welding.
- Design does not damage or alter the shape of the receiving material, guaranteeing total compliance with aesthetic criteria.
- Easy to fit and cost effective. The press-in fit, to be made with gradual and progressive thrust, is fast and easy plus it allows eliminating the traditional and expensive assembly processes by welding and staking.
CAUTION
Avoid heat and galvanic processes or other heat-based systems after the Crown-Nut has been inserted, as they could be detrimental for the product specifications. Not suitable for applications on stainless steel pipes. We recommend inserting a blocking counter-nut on the stud to be fitted for the ‘insert with flange’ series.
Crown-Nut Insertion
- Make the punch according to the type of Crown-Nut and the depth of installation required.
- Make sure the receiving tube is firmly anchored.
- Place the Crown-Nut inside the punch, making sure the crowns are facing the right way (bent towards the punch, as shown).
- Place the Crown-Nut and punch assembly on the head of the tube. It is important that the end of the tube is a uniform shape and cut as any cutting faults or anomalies and non perpendicular cuts may be detrimental for the correct fitting and function of the Crown-Nut.
- Apply gradually increasing pressure until the end of the run.
- Remove the punch.
