Company AMEST has developed a new solution for automatic control of wheelsets dimensions by using of the radial-axial measuring units conception placed on cross-linear supports.
Measuring station for wheelsets control is placed directly after press, where after wheel pressing is wheelset moved into basic position of measuring station.
Accuracy of the measurement (repeatability): ± 0,001 mm
Clamping tailstocks will clamp wheelset into pins and lift wheelset always in to the same height (independently on wheelset type). Simultaneously with lifting, the wheelset is starting rotate. Radial-axial measuring units on cross-linear supports will measure all parameters during of wheelset rotation.
After measurement radial-axial units moving back into basic positions and clamping tailstocks put measured wheelset into rails, where external manipulator take it to subsequent sorting into good pieces or scrap.
The automatic measuring complex, developed by company Amest, is designed to measure complete geometry of railway wheels.
